People use conflict coaches for a variety of reasons. Some common reasons are:
Do I need a conflict coach?
Conflict coaching can be beneficial for anyone who wants to learn how to effectively manage conflict in general, or who is struggling with a specific conflict.
To determine if conflict coaching is the right choice for you, ask yourself the following 3 questions:
1) What do I hope to accomplish?
Being clear about your goals and desired outcomes will help inform your decision and also help your coach to design a specific, results-oriented framework to guide you toward your goals.
2) Am I truly open to self-examination, constructive feedback and coaching?
In order to be successful, you must be willing to take a “hard look in the mirror” and be open to your coach’s feedback. Your coach will challenge you to reflect on your behaviors and to consider new perspectives and approaches to dealing with conflict.
3) Am I willing to invest the time and energy needed to develop my conflict competency and achieve positive change?
Conflict competency does not happen overnight. It requires hard work and dedication to make a positive transformation in your life. Typically, clients meet with a conflict coach (either in person or by telephone) for at least one hour per week, sometimes more.
If you are ready to make a commitment and are open to new and creative ways of managing the conflicts that life brings your way, then give TRC a call or send us an e-mail to set up a free consultation and quote. We will work with you to schedule coaching sessions at a time and place convenient to you.
